I am wondering if there was any canvas or wool stiffening over the shoulders and around the armholes as per doublet construction of the same era?

I am so much a tailor that to my brain, it requires some, but I haven't been able to find out if there was any in the original pieces. My brain thinks that the sleeve would hang much better with the support of a bit of wool or canvas.

It sounds like a lot of hard work and figuring! I'm sure all will go well with the construction, though! You've done magnificent work so far!
